Criteria to become a volunteer
" Setting foot in the Gurukulam is like stepping into a magic grove. .... Kattaikkuttu, the art form for which this place exists and from which it takes its life force, is ancient, immensely layered, and yet, immensely adaptable, and so through the heroic men and women of the great epics, it talks to us of our perennial joys and sorrows. Here at the Gurukulam, children of the oppressed, the downtrodden, bloom through this wondrous art into shining beings that inspire through their grace and their radiant inner beauty. In Rajagopal, I saw a guru in the truest sense of the term - one who does not teach, but transmits - not through coercion and fear, but with immense compassion and love. I am honoured to have spent a few days at this truly magical place. "
