The Kuttu Kalai Kudam is surrounded by 7 acres of land on which local trees have been planted. We are in the process of developing our own organic garden that already caters to our kitchen. The process of organic farming and why this is important for our environment is part of the school curriculum that students of the Gurukulam enjoy.

Head out towards the back of the garden, towards the sloping bank. After a steep climb you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the temple dedicated to Hanuman, the monkey- god and devotee of Lord Rama, and the huge water reservoir that has been constructed in front of the temple.

Follow the small road in the direction of Kolivakkam and you will see another amazing monument, the a well with steps that lead to an underground mandapam (pillared hall). This unique construction is open once a year, when the water is pumped out of the well. People from nearby and far visit the well and so does the God Varadaraja Perumal (Vishnu). As part of a larger procession, he visits the well and spends the night there.
